Makapuu Beach

Makapuu Beach – Small rocky beach is located below Makapu’u Point. This is a very popular beach for bodysurfing but large waves and riptides can make swimming hazardous. Rabbit Island sits just offshore and makes this beach very picturesque. (sunset is not visible from this location)

Popular bodyboarding/bodysurfing beach, but not suitable for swimming
Strong currents and often times high surf
Not much shade on the beach
35-40 minutes from Waikiki by Car
